Fall Vibes: Drink Recipes you can’t Live Without this Fall

Fall is in the air. It’s that time of year again (almost): pumpkins, hot coffee (or cocoa), sweatshirts, and falling leaves. One could say it’s the best time of year, to others it’s a reminder that winter is right around the corner.

As the seasons change, there seems to be lots of fall festivals going on, at least here in Ohio. Celebrations in the great outdoors, while it’s still nice and warm. The air is just starting to get that crisp fall feeling.

For this week, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to share with you guys, so I decided to share some recipes. I have come up with these over the years, and feel they are very festive for fall time.

Chai tea

Chai Tea Concentrate

  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp clove
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp five spice
  • 1/2 tsp all spice
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 7-8 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 tea bags
  • 2 quarts of water

Boil in a medium sauce pan. Strain out the spices with a mesh strainer or cheese cloth. Refrigerate till cold or drink hot. I stored mine in a large mason jar. Remember to shake well before use, there will be some sediment from the spices. Mix with milk when you’re ready to drink, I like to pour mine over ice.

Coffee Creamer

Homemade Coffee Creamer

  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla (or other flavor such as caramel, hazelnut, peppermint, raspberry, etc)

Mix in a 1 Quart mason jar. If you would like to add powdered spices such as cinnamon, cocoa powder or pumpkin spice you can do so by bringing the mixture to a boil with a tsp. of desired flavor then straining it before storing it in the jar. A few of my favorite mixtures are:

Cinnabon Creamer:

  • -Tsp vanilla
  • -Tsp cinnamon

Peppermint Mocha Creamer:

  • -Tbsp cocoa powder
  • -Peppermint flavoring to taste (or a few drops of peppermint extract)

This coffee creamer is great pared with some iced french press coffee. It lasts up to a week in the fridge (if you can refrain from drinking it for that long.)

I hope you guys enjoy these recipes. I’ll be back with another post on Wednesday. Let me know if you enjoy these recipes and would like some more.
